This error means that a subprocess we created cannot run. This subprocess will only be run if you enabled the extra anti-debug option of the Shell Method of protection
There are two possible reasons why this error could occur:
1) If your program was protected with DinkeyAdd v7.4 or earlier then you can get this error if the Visual Studio 2008 Redistributable package has not been installed. You will need to install the 32-bit package if your protected program is 32-bit, and install the 64-bit package if your protected program is 64-bit.
However, the recommended solution is to upgrade the Dinkey Pro/FD SDK to v7.5.0.1 or higher and protect your software again with DinkeyAdd. This fixes the problem without having to install the redistributable on the end user's computer.
2) The problem is most likely to be caused by an anti-virus program blocking a subprocess created by the Shell protected program. To fix this problem in the short term you can make the program (or folder containing the sub-process) an exception to the anti-virus program.
Note - the file (subprocess) we are creating starts with DPMon and is located in the C:\ProgramData directory.
To fix this issue properly please look in your anti-virus log and tell us the full description of the reason this file is being blocked and also the name of the anti-virus you are using. We can then contact the anti-virus company and ask them to remove this false positive.
